'Terminix came to the house for their quarterly pest control service. "Had any problems," said the technician. "No, but I have seen a few roaches." "The big ones or the little ones?" "Big ones." To which he replied, "Oh, well, there's nothing we can do about that. They fly in from outside."'

Today, I was resale shopping, and I found a really neat copper pitcher. I took it off the shelf to find a huge cockroach inside. I just about knocked over all sorts of valuables. ;) Twas funny.
When I was living up north for awhile I walked into one of those yuppie toy stores, all full of educational toys. In among the handpuppets of endangered species was one of a cockroach. Big and brown, with leatherette wings that make a slappy flappy sound when you wave it around. I bought it, because it made me nostalgic for my Houston home. For years it wore a tin foil halo and served as the angel on my Christmas tree.
